DR. ARIYO ABIAKWA OZO - DENIES CALLING FOR THE MASSACRE OF NDI IGBO

Texas-based Yoruba doctor lamely denies calling for Igbo massacre, says 'I'm a friend of Igbos'

Just as the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu did when it was first reported that he threatened to kill Igbo-speaking Biafrans in Lagos, the Texas-based medical doctor who called for the 'slaughter' of Biafrans has denied making such statements. He blamed it on what he called 'computer fabricators' who manipulated his words and took them out of context. The good thing was that he forgot to claim that his facebook account was hacked. Therefore, the so called computer fabricators could not have written those things he did.

According to him, the computer fabricators wanted to get back at him for his support of the Oba of Lagos, during the heated debate of the governorship election in Lagos. Aha! What was this so called support for the Oba of Lagos? Oba of Lagos threatened to drown Igbo-speaking Biafrans in the Lagos Lagoon if they fail to vote for his anointed candidate for the governorship position. "On Saturday, if anyone of you goes against Ambode who I picked, that is your end. If it doesn’t happen within seven days, just know that I am a bastard and it is not my father who gave birth to me. I am the owner of Lagos for the time being. This is an undivided chair. The palace belongs to the dead and those coming in the future. On Saturday, if anyone of you, I swear in the name of God, goes against my wish that Ambode will be the next governor of Lagos State, the person is going to die inside this water ". Oba Akiolu threatened. So based on Ariyo's own confession, he supported the Oba of Lagos on this. It was such statements from another monarch the Zulu king that sparked off the latest wave of xenophobic attacks in South Africa.
Folks, what does that make him? An Igbo hater and genocidal criminal.

This is what is called being clever by half! Ariyo claimed he is not an Igbo-hater and went through the marathon of listing out all the Igbo-speaking Biafrans he has encountered all through his life, but he admitted to have openly supported another Igbo-hater who threatened to kill Igbos. Doesn't that ample proof that he made those threats against Igbo-speaking Biafrans as attributed to him?

No doubt Ariyo and the Oba of Lagos voiced out what many Yoruba people are plotting against Biafrans. A quick scan through the comments of any Nigerian daily will show the deep-rooted hatred of Biafrans by many Yorubas.

Ariyo's denial letter is printed below:

We must press on this until he receives appropriate justice. No one has the right label an entire nation and plot evil against them. That is genocide. Biafrans have suffered the first round of genocide, we cannot afford another one.

in Lagos My attention has been drawn to the news circulating in the social media attributed to me captioned “ U.S. based Nigerian Calls for the Killings of the Igbos”. This story is categorically FALSE. It was generated by computer fabricators, manipulated and bandaged to create havoc. Our investigations indicate that this horrible story was cooked, seasoned and delivered to get back at me for my sympathy for the Oba of Lagos during the recently concluded, highly contested Lagos State gubernatorial election. At the peak of the debate, there were heated exchanges and at the heat of the moment, statements were made from both sides that could be misconstrued. The subsequent distortion by these sophisticated fabricators is causing significant injustice to us all. To all the people affected by the original debate or subsequent computer distortions, I hereby apologize. No matter what, these stories are offensive and highly regrettable.

I condemn these computer fabricators in their entirety. I further condemn any killings or any acts of violence anywhere, be it South Africa or Lagos. Humanity will judge these people harshly. I work every day to save people’s lives from heart attacks. I am writing this letter with only 3 hours of sleep in the past 48 hours due to the nature of my work and the barrage of death threats on me and my family. I am Yoruba, but I have worked closely with Igbos all my life without any problem.

It came as a shock to me and my Igbo colleagues, that I was being labeled as an Igbo hater. Indeed, I appreciate the confidence and support that I have received from my friends and well wishers that know me from around the world. I thank you for the support and your continued prayers in face of this unwarranted and relentless attack created by this false story. My only true statement regarding the Oba of Lagos was taken out of context on completely unrelated issue and bandaged together to create this horrendous story. To prove that I am no Igbo hater, but in fact, I am my brother’s keeper, I will take you through an improbable journey of a young Nigerian boy from a small town to the world’s pinnacle of academic medicine. I will highlight the practical examples of my close relationships with some of my Igbo colleagues all along the way.

At the Univeristy of Ibadan, the first Nigerian University, I received the best medical education that could be obtained under the sun. My teachers were Yoruba, Igbos, Hausa, and Fulani. During our training, we were tribal free. I am currently working with an old U.I colleague, who is a U.S. based Cardiologist, and an Igbo, Dr. Obi Emerole as we put together the First Lagos Cardiovascular Symposium this summer in Ikeja, Lagos.

At Howard University Hospital, where I trained as a medical resident and chief resident, my Igbo friends were Dr. John Agwunobi and Dr. Ahagtotu. Dr. Agwunobi later became the secretary of health to Governor Jeb Bush in Florida, and, Dr. Ahaghotu is now the head of Urology and Associate Dean at the Institution. We were all interns, bound together as Nigerians, without tribal affiliations. We ate together, were on call together, and partied together on Saturday nights whenever we had time.

In 1995, I was a research fellow at Harvard Medical School’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, where I was simultaneously enrolled for Master degree at the Harvard School of Public Health. I reached out to all the Nigerians in the Boston area institutions and we had regular meetings as “one Nigeria.” It was that year in Boston that I actually met Professor Wole Soyinka and the late Professor Chinua Achebe.

At the Johns Hopkins Hospital, regarded as the number one hospital in the United States, I was an Interventional Cardiology fellow. My immediate senior colleague, Dr. Camellus Ezeagwu was Igbo. I went to his house quite often for some “Fufu and goat meat” that his beautiful wife regularly prepared for us.

The best man at my wedding was an Igbo man. Our families enjoy time together and vacation together. I have served in various capacities under the umbrella of the Association of the Nigerian Physicians in The Americas (ANPA). I was humbled to be the keynote speaker at the recent end of the year event. I have also served in our communities and churches encouraging our youth to pursue a carrier in medicine. I have served as head, chairman, director, and secretary in various capacities in different Nigerian organizations that included Yorubas and Igbos for the past 30 years, and not once has anyone said that I hate one group or the other. I currently serve as mentor for lots of young Nigerian doctors. I help them get into residency and fellowship around the country (Yorubas and Igbos alike). As we speak, I have several Yorubas and Igbos students rotating under my service at the hospital.

Nigeria is my country and I am proud of her. She gave me a lot and I intend to continue to give back. I will not let some people create a wedge between me and this country that I love. I believe my only sin was the support that I gave to the Oba of Lagos. As a son of a monarch myself, I have utmost respect for our native rulers. Thus, the position that I took during the debate leading to the highly spirited Lagos State gubernatorial election might have offended some people. For me, this is a lot of price to pay when I am not even a politician. It also shows how far people will go for payback. But, please, this is not a game for me.

I have my plate full in USA. I would rather use this time to save lives and improve the health of people, or increase the chances of other Nigerian kids getting to where I am today rather than responding to false stories designed to get back at me for my different political position. At the time that I am writing this missive, I have received over 500 telephone calls that are mostly death threats. Please let us calm down and work together for peace.

I hope my story clears some ambiguities regarding this unfortunate computer manipulated and generated story. Although, it hurts a lot, I will forgive them (the fabricators). We want every Nigerian to live in peace and harmony. We seek a more tolerant Nigeria, a vibrant Nigeria where there is freedom and liberty, where no one is inferior or superior to the other. We need to band together and start building our nation towards prosperity and a brighter future as we move forward to a more perfect Nigeria. God bless Nigeria. God bless us all.

- The Briafran

After reading all these lies, let's now show you the real face behind the lies you read above. Below is a chat he had with his facebook friend. Now he is claiming that it was fabricated. And the question is how?

Here is another response he made to his friend's article.

We are asking all well-meaning Igbo men to join in the call for the sack of this man in that US hospital before he kills all the Igbos that may be admitted there for treatment, This call is highly necessary and urgent. This man is TIME-BOMB waiting to explode on any Igbo man. This apology he is giving now is an afterthought. He never envisaged the kind of publicity that would attend to that his leaked conversation with his friend on his facebook page. Igbo Youths Vanguard is preparing a petition to be submitted to the United States ambassador to Nigeria for immediate dispatch to the White House for this man repartriation. O ga adiri ya na nma. Ekwensu!

SEE THE KIND OF PEOPLE WHO DISGRACE NDI-IGBO

SEE THE KIND OF PEOPLE WHO DISGRACE NDI-IGBO

He Was Part Of The Delegation To Oba Akiolu When He Threatened Igbos
Narrates What Really Happened
A participant present at the meeting between Igbo leaders and Oba of Lagos state, has said that the monarch was merely joking with his utterances and that none of the persons present took offense to his words. The person in question is a Lagos-based lawyer and industrialist, Chukwudi Atueyi, who revealed to Vanguard what happened between Igbo leaders and Oba Rilwan Akiolu.

Oba Akiolu with some of the hungry, self-acclaimed Igbo Chiefs

Read how he recounts what happened that faithful day after the cut:

“All the Eze Ndi Igbo honorary in Lagos went to pay HRM solidarity visit on Sunday and I was fortunate to be among those present at the said meeting. What the Oba said was fully and simply directed to only the Igbos present at the meeting who his majesty considers to be very close to him and should understand him well enough.”
“You know when one talks to his very close friends and subjects, he tends to be very free with them, so he was being very free with those present at the meeting and wanted us to realize how serious and close he takes us and our votes, because he cannot imagine us giving him our words only to turn back and do the very opposite.”
“He did not force us to the meeting, we were the ones that went to him on solidarity visit, so it would be very evil of us to only go and deceive him there. He only jokingly (at least as it appeared to me then) warned the people present at the meeting who he considers his own people.
The said warning that we are supposed to be very conversant with since we have all the “Ëze Ndi Igbo” present there, as that was not the first time we visited him. We are all already aware of the Yoruba culture and understood perfectly what he meant. There was no specific place he referred to all the Igbos in Lagos.”
“He was only addressing the Igbos with him present there whom he considers his own people and he simply observed his culture which we all quite understood and this explains why there was applause and laughter at the end of his speech. We were expected to, thereafter, talk to our people in civilized manner to convince them and canvass for their votes if we truly believe we are capable of doing so.”
“The tradition of lagoon water threat was directed only to those present at the meeting as culture demands. Though he appeared serious but we all understood it as a joke, that was why we all applauded him and made fun of it there.”
“So I suspect serious politics at play here. I wouldn’t know who recorded the speech and decided to play politics with it. It is most unfair to his majesty to be portrayed in this manner and I think I owe it as a duty to speak up before things get out of hand.”

See how stupid and utterly foolish some Igbo men can be? I suggest that every Igbo man should consider this man a betrayer to the Igbo cause. We think he is selfish and shameless. How can he say such a statement by the Oba was a joke? Chai....ihe aguru na eme umu mmadu!

BOKO HARAM IS THE RESULT OF NORTH'S BID FOR POWER, CHUKWUMERIJE.

BOKO HARAM IS THE RESULT OF NORTH'S BID FOR POWER,

CHUKWUMERIJE.

LESS than seven months to his 76th birthday, former Information Minister and Chairman,

Senate Committee on Education, Senator Uche Chukwumerije, yesterday, passed on after a long

combat with lung cancer.

Chukwumerije: Boko Haram endangers Igbo bid for presidency in 2015
Uche Chukwumerije
Announcing his demise, yesterday, his son, Chidi Chukwumerije, in a four-paragraph statement said his family has lost an inspirational icon.
The statement entitled: “The Passing of An inspirational Icon,” read: “On the evening of Sunday, April 19, 2015, surrounded by his family, Comrade Uche Chukwumerije passed into the open arms of history, and of our Lord Jesus Christ, after a long but gallant battle with lung cancer. His life is many volumes, which can only be told with care and time, of dedication and focus, integrity and discipline, and an unbroken love for the highest ideals of our shared humanity. Details of burial arrangements will be announced in due course. We ask only for your prayers and good wishes.’’
Rumoured to have died last December, which he refuted as the handiwork of “a few ungodly and irresponsible individuals,” Chukwumerije’s death threw the Igbo community and some leaders into mourning.
Below are excerpts of some political outbursts of the Igbo political Iroko who never hid his feelings on any  happening in the political terrain on the state of the nation:
In 2011, while addressing an Igbo Women Development Union in Abakillki, he had this to say:
A NEW twist was added to the Boko Haram debate yesterday, with Senator Uche Chukwumerije, saying it is the result of the North’s bid for power in 2015.
In his view, President Goodluck Jonathan’s emergence is linked to the illegal activities of the Niger Delta militants. The Yoruba used the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) agitation to win the Presidency, he said.Boko Haram (Western education is a sin) has claimed responsibility for the various bombings across the North, including the August 26 suicide bombing at the United Nations House in Abuja.
Despite efforts to pacify them, members of the group have remained intransigent.
Chukwumerije, representing Abia North, is worried about what he calls the politicisation of militancy in some parts of the country aimed at achieving political objective.
The Senator expressed his views yesterday in a paper he presented at the 2011 Igbo Day Lecture at the Women Development Centre (WDC) in Abakaliki, capital of Ebonyi State.
He urged the Igbo socio-political group Ohanaeze Ndigbo, to devise a means of constructive engagement with the youth, who, he said, should stop behaving like somebody stung by a bee and flees at a mere hum of a house fly.

Chukwumerije said: “The issue of militancy in the Niger Delta has yielded them (the Southsouth) the presidency. If you watch what is going on now, the politicised illegal activities of Boko Haram are a proper determination to win the second round of presidential election in 2015”. He accused other   ethnic groups of using similar organizations, such as the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), to win the presidency.
He cited the OPC, the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) and other youth groups in the Niger Delta as vehicles used by the Yoruba and the Niger Delta to win power.
The Abia senator urged Ndigbo to support MASSOB as a veritable youth group that will work towards achieving the cause of Igbo presidency.
Chukwumerije noted that the structure in Nigeria does not support the development of Igbo land after 40 years of Nigeria’s civil war, citing the example of failed promises of successive administrations to build the second Niger Bridge.
He said since the war ended, the Igbo have been marginalised socially and economically while they continue to cry foul without anybody listening to them.
The Senator warned that Ohanaeze Ndigbo and the Igbo language will soon die, if no drastic measure is taken urgently to salvage the situation.

In 2012 during Nigeria's 52nd independence celebrations, he had this to say about Nigeria:
Still in the spirit of the nation’s 52 independence anniversary, a member of the upper chamber, Senator Uche Chukwumerije, yesterday said 52 years after being granted freedom, Nigeria seems not to be free, saying that Nigeria is a failed state.
The Senator stressed on the need for our leaders at the local, state and the federal governments to return Nigeria to the path of economic growth, and work towards the unity of the nation.
This came following different comments from the Chairman, Senate Committee on Rules and Business, Senator Ita Enang, PDP, Akwa Ibom North-East and 108 other senators while congratulating Nigeria on her 52nd years of freedom from colonial rule.
Enang on Monday, October 1, said “Nigeria did mark her 52nd independence anniversary, having attained independence from Britain on October 1, 1960.
“Steadily and gradually, the nation is developing its domestic production capacity as an independent nation. We have become a big player in international affairs within the committee of nations.”
However, Chairman, Senate Committee on Education, Senator Uche Chukwumerije, PDP, Abia North, said: “It took only 21 years to transform Turkey from a feudal state to a highly modernised state today. South-East Asian countries took less than 30 years to move from ex-British colonies to what they are today; Asian Tigers, and are highly developed to the point that one of them, Malaysia, took our palm produce and turned its economy around.
“It took South Korea 18 years to move from 3rd dependent country to one of the third exporters, and it took China exactly 48 years to move from a small status, being described by the West as the begging bone of Asian, to a super power.
“With our 52 years as a country, a country who took palm produce from us some years back has grown into a prosperous country and turned that product into its main exporting product.
“How would you describe us now importing it? I can only describe Nigeria as either a failed state or on the verge of being a failed one.”

Reactions from Nigerians (Culled from the Vanguard)

Ohanaeze will miss his robust contributions – Nwaorgu
Mourning the three-time senator, Dr Joe Nwaorgu, the secretary general of apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, said: “It is a big loss to Ndigbo. Chukwumerije was an enormous resource person. We will miss him a lot. He was a very active member of Ohanaeze, we will miss his participation and deliberation on issues. At 75, it is not such a long life. We expected to him to live longer.’’
Senate has lost one of its brightest minds – Mark
We have lost a perfect gentleman, intellectual gem –Etiebet, MaebaSpeaking on Chukwumerije’s death, Senate President David Mark said Chukwumerije was one of the brightest and fertile minds in the Senate. “He radiated intelligence, exemplary conduct in both public and private life. He was a team player who brought meaning to hard work. He was focused and determined to make positive difference.” Senator Mark added that in the Senate, Senator Chukwumerije was a shinning light and a pathfinder. His words: “We shall miss him. No doubt he left a vacuum that would too hard to fill. He was a consummate and passionate Nigerian who believed in the sanctity of the peace and unity of the nation.”
In his reaction, former Minister of Petroleum, Chief Don Etiebet, said Nigeria has lost an intellectual gem. His words: “We never heard he was sick. Nigeria has lost an intellectual and expert at whatever he was doing. We will miss him greatly especially his contribution to education enhancement as the Senate Education Committee Chairman. I pray Almighty God to give his family the grace to bear the irreparable loss.’’
Also, Senator Lee Maeba described Chukwumerije as a perfect gentleman. “He was a perfect gentleman and I pray May his gentle soul rest in peace.”
His battles will never be in vain –Ikokwu
In like manner, Second Republic Politician, Chief Guy Ikokwu, described the late senator as a man of justice, who fought for the emancipation of the downtrodden. Ikokwu recalled the late senator’s role during the Nigeria-Biafra civil war and said: He did his best for his people and he will never be forgotten. With very little resources, he fought for the survival of his people and those things he fought for will never be forgotten.”
It is the exit of a Lion Senator — Ekweremadu
The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu has expressed shock and sadness over Chukwumerije’s death, describing him as a fearless politician who fought for the interest of the common man and his people. He also described him as “a patriot who gave his best towards the peace, unity and development of Nigeria”. In a statement, Ekweremadu said: “I am most saddened by the news of the passing on of distinguished Senator Chukwumerije. It is the exit of a lion Senator, brother, friend, brave comrade, seasoned journalist, credible mobiliser, social critic, pro-poor politician, and a legislator per excellence.
He said Senator Chukwumerije would be sorely missed by the Senate and the entire nation and prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul and inner strength for his family and the entire nation to bear the irreparable loss.
It is a big loss –Wogu
Immediate past Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chief Emeka Wogu said: “It is a big loss to the country and to the Igbo nation. Chukwumerije was a reference point politically right from the civil war days and then the post civil war era. He is a voice that will be missed in the Senate and I pray that God will grant him eternal peace.”
PDP mourns
The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Adamu Muazu on behalf of the National Executive Committee and the PDP family nation wide mourned and eulogised the late politician.”We are indeed deeply saddened by the loss of this great Nigerian, a highly respected statesman who has made immense contributions to the development of our dear nation. Senator Chukuwumerije lived a patriotic Nigerian and a brilliant lawmaker who gave his all and discharged his responsibilities with unequalled forthrightness, loyalty and commitment to the service of our dear fatherland. He was a democratic icon and an outstanding party-man who remained committed to the ideology of the PDP and the visions of the founding fathers. We will greatly miss him. Our hearts and thoughts go out to his family as we pray God to give them the fortitude to bear this great loss,’’ he said.

WHITHER THE BLACK MAN'S SENSE?

CHECK OUT WHAT THE BLACKS ARE DOING TO THEMSELVES?
When the gun of a crazy white officer mows down a black American or British, the entire Africa will rise up in protest against racism. Now what do we call this sort of man's inhumanity against man, worst of all, black man's brutality against a fellow black man. They call it xenophobia, an intense fear or dislike of foreign people, their customs and culture, or foreign things. In a century and era when the black race is threatened by all forms of challenges for survival worst of all the greedy and corrupt governance pattern of its leaders, Black Africa can not afford this sort of evil and atrocious lifestyle. We cant go on like this. We must learn to change as a people by confronting our fears and weaknesses and those things that often make us feel little, empty and unwanted because these are the things that make us want to take other people's lives.
